A trip to the hospital…

We found out the second week in January that our little baby was not turned the correct way and that we were going to have to have a c-section.  At that last doctor’s appointment our doctor told the hubs and I that she had booked our delivery for the morning of January 19th and that we would need to be at the hospital at 5:30a.m. to prepare for the c-section. Well as the date approached I became more and more nervous I really didn’t want to have a c-section, but I knew that our little one was going to stay in the breech position. To relax my nerves the hubs and I planned a nice quite night at home the evening prior to our lives changing (in the most amazing way) forever. I had packed our bags a few days earlier and I had this wonderful dinner planned. I got home from work that evening and began preparing our last non-parent meal. When the hubs got home that evening he told me that we would eat and hang out but he thought we had a sow that was going to farrow that night so he would need to go check on her later. We ate and relaxed for a bit and I told the hub that I thought that I would head to bed because it was going to be an early morning and big day the next day. He said that he was going to go check on the sow and that he would be back in just a few minutes.  At approximately 3:00 a.m. my loving husband crawled into bed with me; the sow had had her pigs and he stayed with her the entire time to ensure her health and the health of the new piglets. Reminder we live almost 1 hour from the hospital. So at approximately 4:00a.m. I woke my very tired husband up and told him we needed to get dressed and head to the hospital. He obliged and with very heavy eyes crawled out of bed and helped me load the bags in the car and lock up the house.
As we were walking to the car he said “I know that you are very pregnant and I know that you will have a major surgery to remove this child from you in just a few hours, but is there any way you could possibly drive us to the hospital.”
I in turn just stared at him.
He then stated “I have had less than 1 hour of sleep, we do want to make it to the hospital safely, right???”
I continued to stare; he promptly got in the passenger seat of our SUV buckled up, grabbed a pillow and went to sleep.
If my child hadn’t kicked about that time to remind me that it was coming out that day I think I would have continued to stare.
What woman really drives herself and her husband to the hospital to have their child??? ME, apparently.
But it was all worth it!

Neglect

I feel that I have been neglecting a large portion of my life since my dear baby Charlot was born. I mean my blog is called married with pigs. The pigs have been taken care of trust me, but I haven’t had any pictures of them on here in a really long time nor have even mentioned them. As an update we had close to sixty baby pigs but have sold a good portion of those. The ones we have left are still being sold to kids for 4-H and FFA projects and then we have a few we are keeping to show ourselves. Several of these litters of pigs were born the same week as the little miss. The week of Charlot’s birth was quite busy the hubs spent as much time as possible with us at the hospital so Momma Linda, Zach, and Pappy Paul had to handle the pig delivery and care. I am pretty sure that Momma Linda spent an entire night in the farrowing house. Here are a few pictures of the pigs they are not as cute in these pictures as they are when they are little but it was the best I could do!  Tune in later today to hear how the morning of Charlot’s birth also involved the pigs (trust me it is entertaining).

3 Months old and full of fun!

Oh what a fun little girl I have! She smiles, she coos, she giggles, she laughs, and she finds her hands absolutely amazing! Wow how blessed am I to have such a little cutie on my hands.

I never imagined that one smile could change my whole day and that whatever I was stress out about would suddenly disappear. She is quite a little lady! Her Daddy and I think for sure we will keep her!
